"NOW" (Los Angeles, CA, 12:15am), 20076, by AOM subscriber Xavier Nuez. Art Opportunities Monthly lists art competitions, art shows, grants, fellowships, public art commissions and other sources of money for artists working in all media, styles and geographic locations.
    There are many art lists available on the net - I tried a few of them and found them very frustrating. I would research their leads and find that most were not opportunities at all, but rather money making schemes that would only benefit the "gallery".  Thru these lists I discovered how many @#$%'s there are out there trying to rob poor artists desperate for quality exposure. These other lists don't seem to care - for the most part they are infested with these scam submission invites. And the research involved, trying to separate the meat from the fat, was insanely time consuming, not to mention disheartening and friggin annoying.

   AOM is  fantastic. Its clear Benny Shaboy cares about me, the artist. The list is edited down to just the legit and best opportunities. When I first looked at it I had to rub my eyes from disbelief and from joy.  Plus
there's an easy search system that allows me to find what I need in
minutes as opposed to hours with the other lists. Needless to say I
couldn't have higher praise.

I've had several successes thru AOM, including having 2 images accepted
into American Photography annual, AP23.
